Thermoplastic Roofing Systems (TPO) Roofing Membranes

Thermoplastic roofs are synthetic substances that are softened when heated, but hardened upon cooling. Flexibility allows for the membrane to shrink and expand with the rest of the building during temperature changes. For locations that experience extreme temperature shifts between seasons or times of day, you want your roof to be able to catch up with the rest of your building's materials, from concrete to steel. We install and service two types of thermoplastic roofs -- Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) and Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) systems

Thermoplastic Roofing Systems (PVC) Roofing Membranes

Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) roof systems are single-ply membranes often used for flat roofs in harsh conditions or where energy efficiency is paramount. They naturally reflect the heat, keeping your power bill lower. When installed correctly, a typical PVC roof may last around 20 years or more with proper maintenance and timely repairs. Well-known for their strength and durability, these solutions show resistance to various chemicals and fire.

How often should you repair or replace roofing membranes?

The frequency of roofing membrane replacement and repairs depends on the materials originally installed and the architectural features of your building. Variables range depending on existing products, sub roofing layers climate conditions, and the quality of the previous installation. On average, commercial buildings may require roofing membrane replacement every 20-30 years.

How much does roofing replacement add to the property value?

New roofing installations can significantly increase the overall value of a property. While the exact amount varies depending on the property's location, condition, and other factors, a well-installed roofing membrane can yield a return on investment ranging upwards of 100% of the roofing installation price.

How long does it take to get a roofing membrane replacement quote?

We respond to inquiries within three business days, and aim to provide a detailed quote within one week after conducting a site visit and assessing the project requirements.

Is it necessary to replace roofing sub decking when replacing the membrane?

It depends on the existing condition of the sub roof layers and the roofing assembly currently installed. We typically will include the additional layers in our estimate depending on existing conditions.

What time of year is best for roofing replacement?

While it can depend on the region, spring, summer, and early fall are typically considered the best times for roofing installations, as the weather is usually mild and conducive to paint application and drying. It is essential to avoid extreme temperatures (too hot or too cold) and rainy or humid conditions, as they can negatively affect the paint's performance and drying process.
